Deleting your Yaoumy account

You can request the deletion of your Yaoumy account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page describes the exact procedure, the data that will be deleted, the data that will be kept in anonymised form, and the retention periods.

1. How to request the deletion of your account

There are two ways to request the deletion of your Yaoumy account:

Option A — Through your daycare's administrator (fastest)

If you are a parent or teacher at a daycare using Yaoumy:

  1. Contact your daycare's management.
  2. Ask the administrator to deactivate your Yaoumy account from the application's admin panel.
  3. Your access to the application is revoked immediately after deactivation.
  4. The permanent deletion of your data is then requested from Yaoumy by the daycare (see § 3 below).

Option B — Direct request to Yaoumy by email

If you wish to contact Yaoumy directly (for example if your daycare does not respond, or if you are yourself a daycare administrator and want to fully terminate your account):

  1. Send an email to contact@yaoumy.com
  2. Subject: "Yaoumy account deletion request".
  3. In the body of the message, include: your full name, the email address associated with your Yaoumy account, and the name of the daycare you were a member of.
  4. Yaoumy processes your request within 7 working days and confirms the deletion by email.

2. Data that is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following personal data is permanently removed from Yaoumy's servers:

  • Account identifiers: first name, last name, email address, password (hashed), profile photo.
  • Contact details: phone number if you provided one.
  • Messages: all messages sent and received in the application.
  • Photos and videos: all media you uploaded (children's photos in the journal, profile photos, etc.).
  • Notification tokens: the push notification tokens registered on your mobile devices.
  • Activity history: your attendance check-ins, requests (absences, notices), interactions in the application.

3. Data that is kept (anonymised)

Some data may be kept in anonymised form (without any personal identifier that could identify you) for the following purposes:

  • Aggregated statistics: weekly attendance counts, daycare occupancy rates — without any reference to your identity.
  • Accounting records: payment records kept for the legal retention period in Algeria (10 years, Commercial Code), with your name replaced by an internal identifier and without email or phone number.
  • Server logs: anonymised technical traces (IP address, user agent, timestamp), kept for 30 days then automatically purged, for security and monitoring purposes.

4. Retention periods

After your deletion request is confirmed:

  • 30 days: your data is marked as "pending deletion" and kept in an encrypted backup. During this period, you can cancel the request by contacting contact@yaoumy.com. After that, cancellation is no longer possible.
  • Beyond 30 days: your personal data is permanently deleted from production databases and backups. No copy is kept.
  • Anonymised data (§ 3): kept according to the legal and statistical needs described above.

5. Partial deletion (without deleting the account)

If you only want to delete specific data (for example a particular photo or message) without deleting your entire account, contact your daycare's administrator, who can act directly from Yaoumy's admin panel. Otherwise, contact contact@yaoumy.com specifying the exact content to be deleted.

6. Your rights (Law 18-07 and GDPR)

This procedure complies with:

  • Law No. 18-07 of June 10, 2018 on the protection of natural persons in the processing of personal data in Algeria.
  • The European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), for our users residing in the EU.
  • Google Play's Account Deletion Requirements.
